WHMAZ is self-hosted, which means it runs entirely on your own server. Licensing works by the installed copy checking in with the license server rather than by anyone reaching into your system.
The check
- On a schedule, and once daily via cron, your install sends its license key to the license server.
- The server replies with the license status and the list of features included in your tier.
- Your install caches that answer and unlocks features accordingly.
What happens if the check fails
The cached answer is honoured for up to seven days. A brief network problem or a short outage on the license server will not break your install — the last known-good result keeps working. Only after the cache expires do premium features fall back to the baseline set.
What each status means
- Active — everything in your tier is unlocked.
- Suspended — an invoice is overdue. Premium features drop to baseline until it is settled; the next check restores them.
- Expired — the license term ended. Renewal invoices are generated automatically ahead of the due date.
- Terminated — the license has been ended and will not reactivate.
Features unlocked by tier
- Branding removal — hides the attribution line in your client portal footer.
- Software license selling — enables the Software Products and Releases admin menus and the customer download storefront.
- Domain registration and transfers — enables the Domain Register and Domain Pricing admin menus and registrar configuration.
Suspension affects premium features only. Your data is never touched, and your existing customers and services remain intact.
